Terms of use
The rules between you and us, in plain words. The part most people look for is section 7: you have 14 days to change your mind.
Updated
At a glance
- Free
- An account starts with 30 credits. AI actions use credits: tailoring a resume to a posting 3 credits, a cover letter 1, the resume assistant 1 for every 5 messages sent within two hours. Analyzing a posting, searching, saving, editing and downloading cost nothing.
- Paid
- Credit packs: 30 credits for 29 kr, 100 for 59 kr, paid once, no expiry. Or the unlimited plan for 69 kr a month, renewed every month until you cancel. Prices are in Danish kroner and include VAT.
- 14 days
- You may withdraw from a purchase within 14 days. If the service has started at your request, you pay for what you used and get the rest back.
- Cancel
- Cancel the plan any time in Settings, under Account. It runs to the end of the month you paid for.
- The AI
- It can be wrong. You read what it wrote before it goes to an employer.
1. Who we are
Responsa is run by Copenhagen Workshops, a sole proprietorship registered in Denmark (CVR 46388526). In these terms “we” and “us” are Copenhagen Workshops; “you” is the person with the account.
E-mail: hello@responsa.dk. Address: Pladehals Alle 20, 2450 Copenhagen SV, Denmark. How we handle your personal data is in the privacy policy, which is part of this deal as far as data goes.
2. What the service is, and what it is not
Responsa helps you look for jobs, rewrites your resume and writes letters for a job you choose, and keeps your applications in one place. An AI model does the writing. We built it to rewrite from what your resume already says and to offer anything new as a card you accept or reject, but an AI can still make a mistake, miss a detail or word something badly.
- You are the author of what you send. Read every line before it goes to an employer. What you send is yours to answer for.
- No promise of a job. We do not promise interviews, offers or any result, and we are not an employer, a recruiter or an agent.
- The postings are the employers'. We read them from employers' own pages. A posting can be out of date, can close before we notice, or can be described by us less precisely than the employer wrote it. You apply on the employer's own site. We do not vouch for any employer.
3. Your account
- You must be at least 16 to have an account. To buy anything you must be at least 18, or have a parent or guardian's consent.
- One account is one person. Do not share it. Keep your sign-in safe; tell us if someone else got into it.
- What you give us has to be yours to give: your own resume and details, not another person's without their say-so.
4. Credits and the unlimited plan
- A new account gets 30 free credits. Free credits have no cash value. A credit pack you buy adds the credits it says; paid credits do not expire while your account exists.
- AI actions use credits: tailoring a resume to a posting 3 credits, a cover letter 1, the resume assistant 1 for every 5 messages sent within two hours. The price is shown on the button before you start. Analyzing a posting, searching, saving, editing and downloading are free. If an action fails on our side, its credits come back.
- On the unlimited plan, AI actions do not use credits, within fair use (section 8). Credits you hold stay in your balance while you are on the plan.
- Credits cannot be sold, given to another account or paid out in money, except where the law or section 7 gives you a refund.
5. Prices and payment
Prices are in Danish kroner and include VAT. The price you see when you order is the price you pay. Payments are taken by Stripe on its own page; your card details never reach us. If a payment fails, the credits or the plan are not given (or, for the plan, stop at the end of the paid period).
If we raise the price of the monthly plan, we tell you by e-mail at least 30 days before the new price applies to you. If you do not want it, cancel before then and you pay nothing more. The price of credit packs can change at any time for new orders; packs you have bought are not affected.
6. The monthly plan: renewal and cancelling
- The plan renews by itself every month at the price above, on the day you started, until you cancel. You are told this before you pay.
- You cancel in Settings, under Account, with the same ease as you subscribed. After you cancel you keep the plan until the end of the month you paid for, and it is not renewed.
- There is no minimum term and no cancellation fee. Outside the 14 days in section 7, a month already paid is not refunded.
7. Your right to withdraw within 14 days
When you buy credits or the plan on the internet, you have 14 days to withdraw from that purchase, without giving a reason. The 14 days run from the day you buy. For the plan the right is for the first month; later renewals do not start a new 14 days, but you can cancel any time (section 6).
The service starts at once. You use Responsa the moment you have paid, so before paying you tick a box that asks us to start now, inside the 14 days. By ticking it you understand that:
- if you withdraw, you pay us for what you already used: for the plan, one thirtieth of the monthly price for each day since you bought it, counting the day you bought it; for a credit pack, the pack's price divided by its credits for each credit used since you bought it;
- once the service is fully performed, the right to withdraw ends. For a credit pack that is when every credit of the pack is used. The plan is performed month by month, so with the plan the right to withdraw in the first 14 days stays.
How to withdraw. Say so clearly, before the 14 days are over, in one of these ways:
- with the Withdraw link on your plan page (Settings, under Account, beside “Terms” at the foot of the page). It is there for as long as you can withdraw, shows what you get back, and e-mails you a receipt of what you sent and when, at once;
- by e-mail to hello@responsa.dk, from the address of your account or naming it, and saying which purchase it is about (the day and what you bought);
- or with the form below, which you may use but do not have to.
It is enough that you send the notice before the 14 days run out. We answer it by e-mail.
The confirmation. Right after you pay we e-mail you a confirmation of the contract: what you bought and for how much, who we are, the box you ticked, the last day to withdraw, how to do it and this form. Keep it; it is the proof of what you agreed to.
The refund. We pay you back what you paid, less the part you used (above), without delay and no later than 14 days after we get your notice, the way you paid, at no cost to you. The plan stops when you withdraw.
Withdrawal form
To Copenhagen Workshops, Pladehals Alle 20, 2450 Copenhagen SV, Denmark, hello@responsa.dk:
I hereby give notice that I withdraw from my contract for the following service: [the credit pack or the monthly plan]. Ordered on [date]. Name of the consumer: [name]. The e-mail address of my account: [e-mail]. Date: [date].
8. Fair use of the unlimited plan
“Unlimited” is for a person looking for a job, not for a program. To keep it that way, the plan covers up to 100 credits' worth of AI actions in any 24 hours, counted at the prices in section 4: about 25 tailored resumes with their cover letters. That is far more than a person needs. Past it, an action costs credits from your balance like it does for everyone, and with too few credits left it waits until room frees up. Automated use, resale or sharing the account is not fair use, and we may stop the plan for it (section 10).
9. Your content and ours
- Yours stays yours. Your resume, your letters and what the AI writes for you from them are yours to use anywhere. We claim no ownership of them.
- What we may do with it. You allow us to store and process your content to give you the service, including sending it to the AI provider as the privacy policy describes. Nothing else.
- Ours stays ours. The product, its design, its code and the job data we have gathered belong to us or those we have licensed them from. You may use them through Responsa; you may not copy them out in bulk.
10. What you may not do
- Break the law with the service, or put into it what you have no right to, such as another person's private data.
- Read the service out with a program, load it so others cannot use it, or look for ways around its limits and its payment.
- Make up facts about yourself in a resume or letter and present them to an employer as true.
- Resell the service or share one account.
If you do, we may warn you, stop an action, or close the account. Unless the harm is serious, we write to you first. If we close your account and you have done nothing wrong, you get back what you paid for unused credits and for the part of the month not yet used.
11. If something is not right
The law gives you rights when a digital service is not as we promised, for example if a feature we sell does not work: to have it put right, to a lower price, or to end the contract and get your money back. Nothing in these terms takes those rights away. Write to hello@responsa.dk and say what happened; we answer within a few working days.
12. What we are responsible for
We answer for harm we cause on purpose or by gross carelessness, and for anything the law does not let us limit. For the rest we are responsible for the loss you could be expected to suffer because of our mistake, and no more than the amount you paid us in the 12 months before. We are not responsible for what an employer does with your application, for a posting that was wrong, or for a service we depend on (the AI provider, the host, the payment page) being down. None of this limits your rights as a consumer under the law of the country you live in.
13. Ending the account
You may delete your account any time in Settings, under Data. The plan is stopped for you with it. Credits you hold then go too and cannot be refunded, so if you are inside the 14 days and want your money back, withdraw first (section 7). We keep the records the bookkeeping law makes us keep (invoices, five years); they do not contain your resume.
14. Changes to these terms
If we change these terms in a way that matters to you, we e-mail you at least 30 days before it takes effect. If you do not accept the change, you may cancel the plan or delete your account before then. Small corrections only get a new date. For anything you buy, the terms of the day you bought it apply to that purchase.
15. Law and where to complain
Danish law applies. If you live in another country, you also keep the mandatory consumer protection of that country, and you may bring a case in the courts of the country where you live. If you are not happy, write to hello@responsa.dk first.
Then, if you live in Denmark, you can complain to the Forbrugerklagenævnet (the Consumer Complaints Board) through naevneneshus.dk. If you live in another EU or EEA country, the European Consumer Centre in your country will help you with a complaint against us. The complaint has to be about a consumer matter, and the board has its own conditions, such as a time limit and a lowest amount.
